Hendon Avenue, Ōwairaka

This redevelopment now delivers seven modern two-storey homes, with a mix of brick veneer, stylish linea weatherboard & axon combination cladding. Each 3–4-bedroom home has its own private landscaped back yard, off-street parking & updated amenities including under-stair laundry, new AC & a spacious kitchen. Saving a golden totara tree in the backyard of one of the properties & a couple of claret ash trees in the front, the site is unrecognisable.

The four sites on Hendon Ave previously accommodated two homes. Built in 1947, these were no longer suitable & did not utilise the land effectively - one property being completely vacant.

This project is one of a number within Stage 4 of the Ōwairaka Precinct Redevelopment Programme which will see 14 properties replaced with 47 new homes.
