95 & 97-99 Hendon Avenue

The new residential development at 95 and 97-99 Hendon Avenue was undertaken by Signature Construction to provide 7 modern new homes for Kainga Ora, to provide more homes for Aotearoa’s most vulnerable. Two standalones’, a 3-unit terrace and a duplex replaced only two homes over the three allotments, which were no longer suitable and didn’t utilise the land effectively. With a mix of brick veneer, stylish Linea weatherboard and axon cladding, each 3–4-bedroom home has its own private landscaped back yard, off-street parking and modern amenities including under-stair laundry, air conditioning & a spacious kitchen. Saving a golden totara tree in the backyard of one of the properties and a couple of claret ash trees in the front, the site is hard to recognise from its former state.

This project achieved a timely delivery, exceeding client expectations. With all the hard work from our outstanding contracting partners, we managed to hand the two standalones on 95 Hendon over mid-December 2023 and the remaining 5 homes at 97-99, at the end of March 2024.

Throughout the project, we navigated challenges such as rock-breaking, soil stabilisation, and the presence of a protected tree impacting public drainage lines, this demonstrated our expertise in managing complex residential developments.
